Raw vs. Cooked Weight Measurement of Each Ingredient. Let’s say I have the following ingredient in my recipe: 1.5 cups of unsalted, frozen, cooked, boiled, and drained spinach. Do I measure 1.5 cups of spinach in its RAW state and then cook it, or do I measure the spinach after it’s been COOKED?
When the ingredient title contains the word ‘cooked’, the nutrient values are based on the cooked weight or volume. In this example, measure 1.5 cups after cooking the frozen spinach in boiling water without salt and draining the water. If the ingredient title contains the word ‘raw’, measure the uncooked amount.
