How do I copy my PDD data to another computer?

First, make sure the PDD on the old computer is up to date. The top of your screen should say “Pet Diet Designer (v.88.3).”

You will need your data file (which holds all of your recipes) and your original license key, which was emailed to you when you purchased PDD.

Copy the data file from the old computer to a thumb drive. To do this, follow the instructions below:

In Windows Explorer, type %appdata% (with the percent signs) in the menu bar and press Enter. You will go to the “Application Data” folder. Scroll to the bottom and look for a file called “pdd03.sdf”. When you find this file, copy it. This file contains all your data.

On your new computer, download and install PDD using the link in the download email you received.

After successfully installing PDD, you will have a new copy with only sample recipes. To get your own recipes, close PDD for Windows.

In Windows Explorer, type %appdata% (with the percent signs) in the address bar and press Enter. This takes you to the “Application Data” folder. Copy the old data file (pdd03.sdf) to this directory, and choose to overwrite the existing data file created when you installed PDD. You should now have all your pet and recipe data.

Reapply the license key.

That’s it…
